Gel polish manicure.

Colour that lasts three to four weeks, on a nail that was properly prepared first. Most of the time does not go into the colour, but into what happens underneath.

Gel-Lack Maniküre · 100 minutes · from 60 €

Who it is for

For anyone who wants colour that survives everyday life — hands in water, keyboards, shopping bags. Your natural nail stays underneath; nothing is built up and nothing is extended. If your nails are soft or tear easily, natural nail reinforcement is the better choice, and we will say so at the start.

What happens

First the preparation: cuticles pushed back, shape filed, surface matted. This is the part that decides whether the colour holds. Then thin layers go on one after another, each cured separately. They are all listed below — tap one and it tells you what it is for.

How long it lasts

Three to four weeks is the usual case, sometimes longer. You will see it is time from the regrown edge, not from chipping — if gel polish chips, the preparation was too brief. Please come to us for removal; acetone in a bowl at home is hard on the natural nail.

What we work with

Gel and polish come from HeyLove. We use HEMA-free material on request, and always when you tell us about an allergy — please mention it at the start of the appointment. Instruments are by Staleks and are sterilised and sealed after every appointment; the label carries a code you can scan yourself.

Colour fan with cured gel polish shades, held with gloves
The colour fan: every shade cured on the nail, with its name. In the bottle many of them look different.

What happens in that time

  1. Cuticles & shape pushed back, filed, shaped 20 min

Cuticles pushed back, the nail filed into shape, the surface matted. The care that comes before the gel itself — without it nothing holds and nothing looks clean.

  2. Nail dehydrator grease and moisture off 1 min

Removes grease, moisture and dust from the nail plate. It sounds trivial, but it decides how long everything lasts: on a greasy nail not a single layer holds.

  3. Primer so nothing chips off 1 min

The primer bonds the natural nail to the gel chemically. Without it the manicure would lift off the nail or chip after a few days.

  4. Rubber Base flexible base layer 2 min

A flexible base layer that evens out small bumps and flexes with the natural nail. It protects your nail and prevents breaks.

  5. Colour gel two coats for full coverage 20 min

Your shade in two thin coats, each cured separately under UV light. Two coats cover evenly and do not splinter.

  6. Glossy top coat seals and protects 2 min

The seal: it protects colour and structure from scratches and gives the mirror shine that stays for weeks.

The minutes are the working time per step. Together they add up to less than the total — curing, consultation and cleaning up happen in between.

Questions

Is gel polish the same as Shellac?

Shellac is a brand, gel polish is the thing itself. We do not use Shellac.

Why we do not use Shellac

Does it hold if my hands are often in water?

Yes. What matters is not the water but how cleanly the nail was prepared.

Can I choose the colour beforehand?

Yes, in the studio. We show you the shades on the nail, not just in the bottle — many look different in the bottle.

What if I want it off again?

Come to us for removal. It takes its time and is a service of its own, but the nail stays intact.
